I started this in Flint, MI, and ended it in Memphis, TN. Lots of crazy weather out there the past several days. From freezing rain and long deicing delays in Philadelphia, to severe thunderstorms and turbulence in Atlanta.

I chose to name this episode “hero” in honor of a World War II fighter pilot named Bill Overstreet, who just recently passed away. You should check out this NPR interview. Bill was the pilot who pursued a German fighter through the base of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. He was 92.

Always a challenging approach into Aspen, CO, but strong tailwinds made it even more so last week, when a Challenger 601 business jet crashed while trying to land. One of the three occupants died.

A Saudi Arabian Airlines Boeing 767-300 had trouble lowering the right main gear on approach to Madinah last week, resulting in a partial gear landing.

Sadly, the LAM E190 that crashed in Africa in late November was confirmed to be a suicide/homicide by Namibia’s Investigator in Charge. 28 passengers and 6 crew perished.

Lots of feedback in this episode, including contaminated air, packages, my favorite hotels and hotel chains (which I actually forgot to answer!), the Federal Interstate System, and much more.
