APG 119 – More Near Misses, MH370 Update by captjeff | May 30, 2014 | Podcast | 2 comments http://media.blubrry.com/airlinepilotguy/p/traffic.libsyn.com/captjeff/APG119.mp3Podcast: DownloadSubscribe: Apple Podcasts | Android | Google Podcasts | RSS 2 Comments Akeem Osborne on June 1, 2014 at 9:08 am hi capt. jeff my name akeem i’m from the beautiful island of Antigua, btw the way have u ever visited my beautiful island? we have a local beer called wadadli (i don’t consume beer tho but my dad says its good). im currently an aeronautical weather observer at our lone airport (tapa) n produce all weather products metar’s , taf’s, atis etc a couple of episodes back u were talking about weather sources such as weather underground etc .. my personal favorite for aviation purposes is the new adds redesigned website http://aviationweather.gov/adds/metars/ where u can get all weather products pertinent to flying and even notams etc the format of this site has lots of visual representations of the weather, even i after studying meteorology find it easier to interpret weather in a graphical format backed up by text …… since i live in the Caribbean i would like to share my observation of aviation in this part of the world, For aspiring pilots especially , well we do not have many airlines, literally a hand full , most of them are government owned and most are cash strapped. many of them are not hiring or expanding and if they do the citizens of the respective share holder governments hire their citizens 1st . so its tough n highly competitive, it is as bleak as it sounds but what are dreams if u never pursue them just as i am doing with hopes that one day things will turn around in these parts aviation wise, so for the young listener in the Bahamas i think it was in episode 117 or 118 who contemplated getting a degree, id advise him to get one n make your self marketable as aviation in the Caribbean is TOUGH encase u end having to move out side the region for a job … clear skies and tailwinds Log in to Reply Ian Neil on June 5, 2014 at 4:02 am Great show as always Log in to Reply Submit a Comment Cancel replyYou must be logged in to post a comment.
